Cincinnati Reds Cut Struggling Dontrelle Willis

The Cincinnati Reds couldn't watch any more of Dontrelle Willis and officially cut the former Florida Marlins' star on Tuesday.

Willis, according to Rob Neyer of SBNation, will most likely be sent down to the minor leagues in order to get in some more work. He walked 11 batters in a little more than nine innings pitched during spring training.

The struggles continue to pile up for a young left hander who was supposed to be the next big thing in Major League Baseball.

Since his days in Florida, he's made stops in Detroit, Arizona, San Francisco and now Cincinnati. His 3.87 ERA in 2006, his second to last season with the Marlins, was his lowest in the last four years. His very first season in Detroit after being traded to the Tigers, he shocked baseball with an 0-2 record and a 9.38 ERA in seven starts.

The following season, Willis once again couldn't fix the struggles he was going through. In seven starts, he finished with a 1-4 record and an astounding 7.49 ERA.

You definitely wish the best for him and hope there's a pitching coach who can fix what's gone wrong with this young pitcher. If he can't find anyone who can get him back on track, could he be considered one of the biggest flops in baseball history?

Baltimore Orioles Close to a Deal For Adam LaRoche?

The Baltimore Orioles look to be close to bringing in first baseman Adam LaRoche according to Ed Price of AOL Fanhouse.

 The Washington Nationals and San Diego Padres were also said to be interested but it looks like both of those teams will be the losers in this one.

LaRoche played his 2010 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks hitting .261 with 25 HR and 100 RBI.
