The Texas Rangers announced this morning they have signed Cuban outfielder Leonys Martin to a five-year $15.5 million deal which will include a $5 million bonus.
According to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com as well as Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, Martin will head to the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders and may not be far from the big leagues.
To make room on the 40-man roster for Martin, the Rangers designated right-hander Ramon Aguero for assignment.
